If you really love to shop, but don’t want to spend as much as you usually do, there are some useful things to look out for to help save those pennies. Here's three of retails best kept secrets.
Usually, shops will arrange their stock in outfitted collections. You’ll probably see dresses with a matching jacket, or the latest trouser trend teamed with tops. However, when shops prepare for a sale, they usually start to organise the stock into categories, for example, all trousers together, tops together and so on. So, the next time you’re having a browse around your favourite clothes shop, keep an eye out for staff rearranging the layout into categories, there might be some discounts on the way.
You can often find secret codes handwritten on the tags of certain products that will end up being reduced. However, once you know what to look for, these secret codes aren’t so cryptic. These codes can vary in what they look like depending on the shop or brand but will normally be a mixture of letters and numbers. Essentially, whatever number is written within the code, that is usually the price it will end up in their next sale. It’s unlikely the shop staff will tell you the exact date of the sale, so it may be a case of keeping a look out for those big red sale banners.
If there is something you’ve seen in store on sale, but the sale finished before you could go back to buy, it’s always worth flashing the store staff a friendly smile and asking if they still have the item in stock. Shop’s usually keep old sale items in the stock room ready for the next sale and may well get it for you. This isn’t always the case but it's worth asking.
